Starting his music journey at just 13 years old, Matt Williams recorded with a punk band signed to indie label 401 Records, marking the beginning of his musical career. Under the guidance of mentors Rob Smith and Doug Mapp, he mastered his craft while playing bass in various ensembles, including his high school’s marching band, and youth orchestras such as the Philadelphia Sinfonia.

After graduating high school, Matt continued his musical studies at Rowan University and Berklee College of Music, focusing on contemporary bass guitar techniques. Upon returning to South Jersey, he helped found Action Plan Process, a progressive metalcore band that quickly gained attention and shared stages with notable acts like Emmure and Oceano.

In addition to the success of his band, Matt also dedicated time to teaching music lessons and working in pit orchestras for various school districts. His passion for music led him to tours with groups like Bright & Early and collaborations with local R&B and hip-hop artists through his house band The Mixx.

Matt's talent and dedication shone through as he ventured into different music genres and projects. From the grunge act HIGH LEAF, which received regular airplay on WMMR and earned their title of Local Artist of the Month, to the punk indie favorite Good Look, Sigourney, where he and the band collected numerous indie music awards and acclaim for their performances.

More recently, Matt's journey continued with performances alongside the cover band Garden State Radio and recording with the metalcore outfit Huxley. He has collaborated with industry professionals such as Kane Churko, Ricky Armellino, and Chris Kelly and achieved milestones like opening for renowned bands Disturbed, Royal Blood, Living Colour, and The Pretty Reckless.

Beyond his performances, Matt extends his expertise through services like bass lessons, recording, mixing, and mastering, showcasing his diverse skill set and commitment to music. He is eager to work with artists and musicians of all skill levels and open to providing valuable insights from his experience in music.
